Saddleback College's accreditation was reaffirmed in January 2005 using the new accreditation standards of the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

The self-study process is, however, an ongoing process that provides opportunities for reflection and integration of new ideas and institutional improvements that will help lead the college toward increased institutional effectiveness.
